Project Work: Single storey underground carpark covered by a FIFA grade soccer pitch

Builder: Hansen Yuncken

Location: Strathfield

Alland Group were privileged to have the opportunity to complete a major design and construct project for builders Hansen Yuncken.  The works at the Australian Catholic University consisted of a single storey underground carpark, and once built, covered by a FIFA grade soccer pitch.  Included within the complex are public and referee changing rooms, amenities and a first aid room.

The electrical package consisted of security, CCTV, access control and structured cable network. Alland Group installed a new main distribution board supplied from the onsite main switchboard together with over 200m of inground essential and non-essential services. The main distribution board supplied the mechanical services along with an electrical sub-board inside the carpark.

Installation of a CBUS lighting control system that incorporated sensors, relays and lighting control panels, ensured compliance to the BCA.  Ultimately this technology will reduce energy consumption by ensuring the lighting is only used when the building is occupied.

All emergency lighting is Clevertronics Zoneworks computer monitored system. Zoneworks XT is a real-time, automatic monitoring and testing system for Exit & Emergency luminaires to assist in meeting mandated testing and reporting requirements.

This state of the art monitored solution significantly reduces ongoing emergency lighting costs by eliminating manual testing of each unit and providing detailed reporting confirming to Australian Standards. The system backbone consists of Zoneworks XT Controllers located at switchboards and linked via data cable or over a network. These communicate with individual luminaires using the structured lighting cables without requiring additional data cable runs between luminaires.

This amazing, state of the art football facility will provide an exceptional sporting venue and assist ACU in their mission to foster women’s football, both on campus and in the wider community.
