Epping has been identified as an area of significant population growth, the Department of Education’s decision to build a new school at Epping South and upgrade the school at Epping West was vital in order to provide adequate educational opportunities to the surrounding community.
The new primary school at Epping South (called “Ngarala Public School” – meaning ‘learning together’ in the Dharug language) were built on a disused TAFE site and will accommodate 600 students in a state of the art learning environment that includes 25 new flexible learning spaces administration and staff areas; Hall and canteen; Library; Covered outdoor learning area (COLA); Special education unit; Special programs area; Play space in various locations; and a staff car park.
The Epping West school upgrade included construction of two new buildings; containing 29 new classrooms, together with the refurbishment and renovation works to existing buildings.
Alland’s scope was extensive, and after more than 12 months on site, could look back on the work with pride. Works on both sites included:
