Penrith Civic Arts Precinct (The Mondo)

Client: Penrith City Council

Project Works: Lighting Upgrade

Builder: Glascott Landscape & Civil Pty Ltd

Site Location: Penrith

Alland Group are proud of our association with Glascott Landscape & Civil in the completion of the works at the Mondo. The works were a combination of demolition, civil, landscaping, energy efficient “LED” lighting upgrade throughout, electrical infrastructure, switchboard modifications, specialised seating power requirement and drainage works to enhance the Penrith Civic Arts Precinct.

Thousands of people walk through The Mondo each week due to its prominent location between Westfield Penrith, Penrith Library and the Council Chambers, and the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre. The Mondo has now been transformed into a more inviting and attractive space. Creating a place where people will actually want to stop and enjoy their surroundings, instead of just walking through.

Penrith Council’s vision is to make the City Centre more vibrant, lively and attractive while offering spaces for people to stop and enjoy being outside. Umbrellas and trees provide shade to help beat the heat on hotter days, and low garden beds also help “cool” the area. Improved lighting, new paving and artificial turf to make the area look good all year round. Many of these features incorporate sustainable materials and methods such as channeling water for tree irrigation, in line with Council’s sustainability goals.
